2026 Summer Camp Counselor

Hello!

Thank you for your interest in the 2026 Growing Routes Camp Chloë Counselor position! At Growing Routes, our mission is to provide small-group explorations that nurture confidence, creativity, and compassion. We believe in the power of adventure, connection, and self-discovery to create lasting memories and make a meaningful impact—not just for our campers but for our staff, too.

Imagine spending your summer outside on a beautiful farm setting, swimming in the lake at our private beach, hiking through our backwoods trails, and leading activities like campfires, arts and crafts, and group challenges. As a counselor, you’ll be guiding campers through new experiences, encouraging them to explore their potential and build confidence. Growing Routes at Twigg Farm in Union, Maine, is intentionally small, with a maximum of 8-20 campers per session, and we aim to create a relaxed, family-like atmosphere. We enjoy meals together made from garden-fresh ingredients, pick berries to make our own ice cream, and fall asleep to the ancient sounds of loons, crickets, and bullfrogs.

Our days are filled with magical moments, from sharing laughs with our cabin to that early morning shiver before a dip in the lake, to the joy of a perfectly roasted s’more. Each day at camp balances organized activities with the freedom to follow what feels fun in the moment—whether it’s a hike in the woods, a scavenger hunt, art-making, yoga, or just relaxing under an apple tree. Camp is located on 84 acres with woods, fields, gardens, and apple orchard, and a private lake shoreline. It is the perfect place for nurturing creativity, confidence, and compassion.

We are looking for counselors who are passionate about fostering a supportive, inclusive, and fun environment. You’ll be living in a cabin with 6-10 campers and one other counselor (depending on the session), creating a safe and joyful space where each camper can thrive. Because counselors live in cabins with campers overnight, we seek applicants comfortable supervising and supporting girls and gender expansive youth in this setting. We especially value recent high school or college graduates, or those closer in age to campers, to help foster a peer-like experience. This role is ideal if you’re looking to grow your leadership skills, make lifelong memories, and be part of a team working toward something truly meaningful.

If you’re ready for a summer that’s adventurous, impactful, and full of purpose, this role could be the perfect fit!
