GtO s2 2024

Today was a wonderful first day of camp! We have lucked out with the weather and are so grateful to be right on the lake where we can easily cool off. After campers arrived and said goodbye to parents, we played a few games and did some ice breakers to get to know each other (and ate some ice pops!). Then we went over the camp guidelines and got a tour of the property. After that we put on sunscreen and went for a long swim in the lake followed by a yummy baked potato bar for lunch. Then we had quiet time and got a little more settled in our cabins. The afternoon called for icy cold lemonade and tie dying t-shirts and sweatshirts. As it was such a hot day, we also decided to swim in the lake once again and made friends with the dock spiders. After swimming we picked out string and started weaving friendship bracelets. We then decorated our cabins and enjoyed free time — hanging on the hammocks, playing card games, working on our bracelets, eating apples and crackers, and drinking lots of ice ice water! Next we had dinner of burgers and corn before sitting by the fire, playing games, and roasting s’mores. Our evening ended with a gorgeous sunset dip in the lake before showers and heading to bed. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the week has in store! 🏕️
